Victory For An Angry and Judgmental Christian

Have you ever noticed people that are gifted with discernment can also be tormented by a critical spirit?

The demonic kingdom will use God’s gift against you, if they can gain a legal right. I had a client some time ago in our Tampa office that came in with this problem. Henry (not his real name) was suffering with spirits of rejection, judgment, condemnation, and anger. This man had grown up with an angry father, who learned to love by rules and punishment. He viewed his heavenly father the same way. 

The church he grew up in was also legalistic, rigid, and used scripture to place fear in the hearts of the congregation. The enemy came in early to distort Henry’s gift of discernment.  On his first visit, Henry came in wanting to debate scripture. (By the way I don’t do that} I asked him simply, where is the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life? Do you have love, joy, and peace operating in you? His answer was a loud “No!”

n the day of Henry’s deliverance the Holy Spirit showed me a clear picture of a courtroom. Henry was on the jury, he was also the prosecutor and judge. The Holy Spirit pointed out that God’s gift was for Henry to only be on the jury. He was to hear and know the truth, and then bring that truth in prayer to God and leave it there. As we bound the strongman of Jealousy in Jesus’ name, and called out the tormenting spirits of rejection, judgment, condemnation, and anger, they left in a flood of tears.  God had done a work in Henry’s life and now he was free from a burden God never intended him to wear.

Several weeks later I saw Henry at a prayer meeting. I was studying his face to see why he looked so different. I realized I never seen him smiling like that before! He even had dimples!

As a mentor of mine always says,”What the world does not need is another lemon-marinated Christian."

Praise God, there is one less now!
