Can Christians Be Cursed?

 

We have ministered deliverance prayer to thousands of people, saved and washed in the blood of Christ, yet who still had curses operating in their life. How did we know that? During the course of our deliverance ministry, we methodically break curses over people, cancel the assignments of demonic spirits and often see manifestations as these curses are broken and the spirit leaves.

 

Curses being broken for us is much like salvation and even our healing. Provision for it has been and completed by Christ on the cross (before the cross, by His stripes, in the case of healing). However, this work must be appropriated by the hearer. Salvation is available for all but not all are saved. Similarly for healing, we must appropriate and declare the completed work of Christ for healing.  

 

There are demonic spirits associated with curses to carry out the curse. The reality is that anyone can curse you but the curse needs an open door/entry point for the sprit to enter you and work in your life (Proverbs 26:2). The misconception that Christians cannot be cursed is one of a long list of mistaken beliefs people hold that can lead to their untimely demise. Hosea 4:6 tells us that God’s people are destroyed for lack of knowledge and this is certainly one of those areas where ignorance is not bliss!
